The Scamper

Why?

The Scamper is an acronym for seven creativity techniques, developed by Bob Eberle (1996). During idea generation, the students can use the method to facilitate their creativity, in order to come up with new, innovative solutions to the problem at hand.

How?

When the problem is linked to a product or service, the teacher tells the students to use the following seven creativity techniques, during the idea generation phase (see illustration).

Tips

As opposed to using a linear approach, the students jump back and forth between the different techniques during the process.
